Pilani Musings

In the backdrop of Pilani’s magnificence, hundreds come and go,

A thousand come in every year with innocence in their eyes and naïve bravado.

A thousand graduate every year with heavy hearts and stories to tell,

A rollercoaster college life and countless nights spent stargazing at NAB, make it an extremely hard farewell.

The clocktower stands tall in the background playing the orchestra; allowing musicians to play their portions,

Our recipe of college life is late-night meals at ANC, ‘Nutan ki chai’ and all-nighters in the library, in equal proportion.

We come out of the FD2’s and the LTC’s of the world battered and bruised,

Pizzeria, the supplier of the ‘elixir of life’ gives us a shot at redemption and allows us to cut loose.

First-year is a whirlwind of experiences and emotions,

With the obvious highlights being Music Nite, Oasis, and light-hearted conversations.

Second-year is all about prioritization and trying to figure out the right balance,

Realizing that figuring out who your true buds are, is also a challenge.

Third-year signals the onset of serious responsibility,

Everyone fights their individual battles with help along the way in the form of ‘Wingie bonhomie’.

The dawn of fourth-year brings with it the pressure of placements and the inevitable realization,

That we’ve already had the best days of our lives; a period of bliss and salvation.
